How Can I Help?

Canadian golfers – if you love the game and want to help it grow, now is the perfect time to get involved!

I want to help grow the game of golf in Canada—what are my first steps of involvement?

There are several ways you can help. Possibly the first thing you can do to become involved, is to learn more about golf in Canada. Learn more about the numerous volunteer opportunities within Golf Canada and the provincial golf associations. At the “enter” phase we have a couple of key programs that we could utilize volunteer assistance with the implementation, that being National Golf in Schools and CN Future Links.

Help can also come in the form of philanthropy – adopting a school in your area is a fantastic way to grow the game and expose golf to Canada’s youth. Without volunteers the many golf championships that Golf Canada and the provincial associations annually conduct would not be possible.

With my unwavering passion for golf, how do I get more people exposed to the game of a lifetime?

Those that have a passion and the time to volunteer for the pure enjoyment of the sport should look at CN Future Links—Canada’s Junior Golf Development Program—it’s success relies heavily on leaders. Become a CN Future Links leader by contacting Golf Canada for opportunities in your area. The community sport stream of Coach Development Model allows volunteers to deliver Level 1 of the CN Future Links program. Golf Fore the Cure, created to increase women’s participation in golf and raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer, is a unique opportunity for those looking to volunteer or run an event for a worthwhile cause. Become one of the more than 350,000 Golf Canada members. Golf Canada also offers rules certification and course rating opportunities through educational programs for those looking to become certified rules officials and golf course raters for handicap purposes. Individuals who have made contributions to golf in Canada through volunteer opportunities are eligible for the Volunteer Recognition Awards.

If you are passionate about growing the game, the National Golf in Schools Adopt a School program could resonate with you.

We’re in need of a new generation of golf heroes in Canada, how do I help them succeed?

Golf Canada and the Provincial Golf Associations run some of the best tournaments in the country for both amateur and professional golfers and are always looking for keen, passionate golf supports to assist in their implementation.

The Team Canada Club is a fundraising initiative targeted at supporting Canada’s Team Canada program, providing support services to our best up and coming stars. You may have a passion to help student-athletes at Canadian post-secondary institutions, if this is the case you should inquire about the Golf Canada Foundation. The success of Canada’s best golfers making the transition from amateur golf to the pro ranks depends heavily on the support from those willing to help. Find out more about the Emerging Pro Strategy. And finally, adopt a school as part of the National Golf in Schools Adopt a School program and give elementary aged children the chance to learn the game of golf.
