Amateur Golf

Golf Saskatchewan has announced the host venues for the 2013 Saskatchewan Provincial Championship season. The dates and events are as follows:

• July 2-4, 2013: Saskatchewan Amateur Women’s, (NEW) Mid-Amateur Women’s, & Senior Women’s Championships – Humboldt Golf Club, Humboldt
• July 8-10, 2013: Saskatchewan Junior Men’s & Women’s Championships – Hillcrest Golf Club, Moose Jaw
• July 15-18, 2013: Saskatchewan Amateur Men’s Championship – Melfort Golf & Country Club, Melfort
• July 22-24, 2013: Saskatchewan Senior Men’s Championship – Saskatoon Golf & Country Club, Saskatoon
• July 29-31, 2013: Saskatchewan Mid-Amateur Men’s Championship -- Deer Valley Golf & Estates, Deer Valley
• Aug 14-15, 2013: Saskatchewan Women’s Rosebowl Championshp – Harbor Golf Club & Resort, Elbow
• Aug 24-25, 2013: Saskatchewan Mixed Team Championship – Deer Park Municipal Golf Course, Yorkton

A significant change to 2013 includes having the Amateur Women’s Championship combined with the Senior Women’s Championship and the inclusion of the Mid-Amateur Women’s Championship at the same event.

The Junior championships will be held in Moose Jaw to join in the Hillcrest’s 100th celebrations. The Hillcrest Golf Club should provide a great venue for the many junior men and women who will be playing in the championship.

The Melfort Golf and Country Club, which played host for the 2012 Senior Men’s and Women’s Championshps, has been awarded the role as host club for the 2013 Saskatchewan Amateur Men’s Championship.

Golf Saskatchewan is returning to one of the premier courses in the province when the 2013 Saskatchewan Senior Men’s Championship visits the Saskatoon Golf and Country Club.

The host site for the Mid-Amateur Men’s Championship will be a tough test for the provinces golfers. Deer Valley Golf & Estates has always been a very fun but challenging golf course and 2013 should be no different.

In August, Golf Saskatchewan will host its two team events with the Women’s Rosebowl Championship at Harbor Golf Course and Resort and the Mixed Team Championship at Deer Park Municipal Golf Course.
