Amateur Golf

Val Gillis, a member of the Mountain Golf Club, was elected President of the Nova Scotia Golf Association (NSGA) at the Annual Fall Meeting held October 28th. Mrs. Gillis will serve as the NSGA President until the end of the 2013 season.

Prior to her appointment, Gillis was the Zone Representative for the Nova Scotia Ladies Golf Association and NSGA. In addition, Val served as President on the Board of Directors for the Mountain Golf Club.

In 2008 Val joined the NSGA Management Team and served as First and Second Vice President. She works for the Investment Planning Counsel and resides with her husband Wayne in Truro, Nova Scotia.

Also elected to the NSGA Board of Directors this past weekend are the following:

Linda Bennett, Rules Director

Linda Bennett is from the Eden Golf Club and has been an active member of the Nova Scotia Golfing Community for over two decades. Linda is a Level IV Certified Rules Official and has served in various posts with both the NSLGA and NSGA. She and her husband Earl are residents of Middleton.

Ernie Muise, Membership Director

Ernie Muise from the Clare Golf has been appointed as the NSGA Membership Director. Mr. Muise is a past President of the Clare Golf Club and has served as the NSGA Western Zone Representative for the past 6 years. Ernie lives in Little Brook with his wife Lorraine.
