Over 13,000 women participated at Golf fore the Cure sites across the country this year.
Together from over 180 Golf fore the Cure sites nationwide they’ve raised over $400,000 in 2012 and over $4 million since 2003.
Presented by Subaru Golf, Golf Canada’s Golf fore the Cure program is aimed at growing women’s golfing participation in the country by introducing the game through fun, non-intimidating activities.
This past fall at The Summit Golf and Country Club close to 100 women came together in support of Golf fore the Cure and celebrated the success of the season-long program.
At the event supporters, sponsors and top-fundraising groups were recognized for their year-long support of the program.
“The Golf Fore the Cure program continues to yield a tremendous response across the country, and we are exceptionally proud of the efforts put forward by all of the participants thus far in 2012,” said Jeff Thompson, Golf Canada’s Chief Sport Development Officer. “We are thrilled that in nine years our fundraising contribution to breast cancer research has surpassed the $4 million mark.”
Proceeds from Golf fore the Cure sites are donated to the Canadian Cancer Society as well as the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation.
