Six Canadians set to contest for South American Amateur title
Team Canada contingent to vie for individual men's and women's titles in Colombia

Six members of Golf Canada’s National Amateur Team Program will compete in the eighth playing of the South American Amateur Championship from January 23 - 26 at the par-72 Rincón de Cajica Golf Club near Bogotá, Colombia.
Team Canada Development Squad members Kevin Kwon of Pitt Meadows, B.C., Mark Valliere of Courtenay, B.C., Matt Scobie of Ajax, Ont. and Hugo Bernard of Mont-St-Hilaire, Que. will vie for the men’s title, while National Squad members Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ont. and Jisoo Keel of Coquitlam, B.C. will be featured in the women’s competition.
With players from 19 countries on site, the South American Amateur Championship will be contested over 72 holes of stroke-play competition, consisting of 18 holes on each of the four days of the championship.
Team Canada Men’s Squad Head Coach Derek Ingram and Team Canada Women’s Squad Assistant Coach Ann Carroll will be on site with the players in Colombia.
A total of 132 players will be vying for the titles in their respective male and female divisions.
