Adam Svensson continues to make a statement at Barry University.
As a freshman playing in only his fourth tournament with the Buccaneers, the Team Canada member fired a final round 1-over par 71 to finish one stroke behind Gus Wagoner for the overall title at 1-under par.
The Surrey, B.C., native opened the tournament with back-to-back rounds of 69 on the par-70 Cuscowilla Golf Club in Eatonton, GA. He led the tournament in par-4 scoring at 5-under par and posted 11 birdies over 54-holes.
Last week at the Southeastern collegiate, Svensson finished tied for second at 1-under par five strokes behind Tim Crouch. His 1-under par total this week, left him only one stroke shy of taking home his first collegiate title.
Barry University is currently the No. 1 nationally ranked team in Division II. They play next when they host the Buccaneer Invitational April 1-2 in Miami Beach, FL.
