Golf Historical Society of Canada Show and Auction goes this Sunday

March 27, 2014

The great success of reality TV shows such as Pawn Stars, Storage Wars, or Canadian Pickers might be because of the lure of great fortune with discovering a hidden gem.  It is the exhilaration of possibly having, or finding, a needle in a haystack that gets people excited.

The thoughts of dusty old golf clubs that haven’t been touched in years, possibly living in your garage or basement, generally don’t excite very many people, but fortunately for us, the Golf Historical Society of Canada (GHSC) will be hosting their annual Show and Auction this Sunday, March 30th, and they want to check out your antique golf collectibles.

Appraisers and collectors will be on hand to let you know if you truly have ‘treasure’.  The knowledgeable members of the GHSC will identify any of your golf collectibles including wooden-shafted golf clubs, balls, tees, porcelain collective ware, books, photographs, trophies, etc…

There is no need to be a member of the GHSC to attend.  Admission is free to the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame and Museum, so if you have never visited us or just have a small interest in golf history, come and join us.  Doors open at 10am and they coveted auction (which all are welcome to participate in) begins at 2pm.

The Canadian Golf Hall of Fame and Museum is located on the grounds of Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ont.
