Get to know Team Canada

This week we check in with Development Squad member Kathy Lim of Langley, B.C. In 2012, Kim had two top-10 finishes in CN Future Links Championships and also finished tied for 5th at the BC Junior Girls Championship.

On Course Questions:

GC: Ever had hole in one? If so where and how did it happen?
KL: NOT YET! Coming soon :)

GC: What golfers would make up your dream pairing?
KL: Michelle Wie, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.

GC: How did you learn to play golf/who introduced you?
KL: My parents were pretty passionate about golf and they played regularly. I wasn't too interested until I was about 12 when I thought I should give it a shot! My parents continue to be my #1 coaches.

GC: What is your most memorable golfing moment?
KL: October 8th, first ever birdie. Par 4 10th hole at Redwoods Golf course. Perfect drive to a perfect putt.

GC: What’s the best golfing advice you’ve ever been given?
KL: "Relax and just play the game"

GC: If someone were to ask you why they should pick up the game of golf, what would you tell them?
KL: Other than the fact that it's the best possible sport and game to play out there, because it's a game of life. Not only do you get to play a sport, you also build your character along the way.

GC: If you could sit down and have dinner with any professional golfer, who would it be and what would you ask them?
KL: Lexi Thompson, she's had so much success and experience on the LPGA tour. I would love to be able to have a chat with her about golf and life in general. I could probably relate to her the most being about the same age!

GC: If you could have an intro song every time you teed off what would it be and why?
KL: Cruise by Florida Georgia Line, its upbeat but relaxing at the same time. Love it!

Off Course Questions:

GC: What’s something a lot of people wouldn’t know about you?
KL: I'm allergic to seafood but it's getting better!

GC: If you didn’t play golf what sport would you have wanted to be better at?
KL: I was a volleyball player before golf, so it would be nice to resume and become better at it.

GC: If you could have any super power, what would it be?
KL: Ability to be invisible and go through walls and such, how cool would that be!

GC: What’s on your iPod right now?
KL: Country and Rap. Can't really live without the two.

GC: Do you have any fears? If so, what are they?
KL: FLIES! I'm absolutely terrified of flies, or even one fly. I will immediately leave the room if a fly is present.

GC: When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up?
KL: A lawyer, loved arguing and proving others wrong.

GC: What food can’t you live without?
KL: Nutellalalala (I'm working on it)
