When I heard about the upcoming ‘Let’s Talk’ event for mental health awareness, sponsored by our friends at Bell, I was proud that Golf Canada has made such strong partnerships with companies that are making the world a better place.
On Wednesday, February 8 as part of ‘Let’s Talk Day’, Bell will donate 5 cents from every text message sent and every long distance call made by Bell and Bell Aliant customers to mental health programs.
These donations will help combat stigmatization and ignorance as part of Bell’s multi-year charitable program dedicated to the promotion and support of mental health across Canada.
Mental illness is something that many Canadians struggle with, and as a national organization, the well-being of our fellow citizens affects us all. Corporate partners like Bell Canada are working with people across our diverse country to educate and support people that need it.
Over the years, we have seen just how beneficial the support of Bell can be. For 12 years from 1994-2005, Bell was a driving force in Canadian golf as title sponsor of the Canadian Open. Since then, Golf Canada has been fortunate to have Bell continue their involvement with us as a Premier National partner and Official Telecommunications Provider to the RBC Canadian Open.
Bell’s support throughout the years has played a strong part in assisting Golf Canada in growing the game of golf across Canada, and for that we are thankful. In this case, I would like to congratulate Bell on their efforts in mental health and encourage Canadians to take part in ‘Let’s Talk Day’ on February 8.
