Golf Canada is the National Sport Federation and governing body for golf in Canada, representing more than 375,000 members at 1,522 clubs nationwide. Guided by our 2023–2027 Strategic Plan, we are dedicated to growing the game, supporting excellence at all levels, and ensuring golf in Canada is safe, welcoming, and inclusive for all participants.

Committees & Councils

Golf Canada Committees and Councils bring together volunteers who provide oversight, expertise, and input across a wide range of governance, policy, sport development, and operational areas. 

  • Standing Committees
    • Audit & Risk Committee Oversees financial reporting, risk management, compliance, and audits. 
    • Compensation Committee Oversees executive pay and CEO compensation; board-only for confidentiality. 
    • Governance Committee Reviews bylaws, policies, governance model, succession planning, and governance practices. 
    • Human Resources Committee Reviews HR strategy, culture, staffing needs, and volunteer/staff policies. 
    • Investment Committee Oversees investment funds, policy compliance, and portfolio sustainability. 
    • Nominating Committee Identifies and nominates candidates for Board and Councils; ensures diversity and succession planning. 
  • Operating Committees
    • Canadian Golf Hall of Fame Selection Committee Reviews nominations, elects inductees, and oversees induction ceremonies. 
    • Amateur Competitions Committee Advises CEO and supports delivery of national championships, qualifiers, and competitions. 
    • Handicap & Course Rating Committee Oversees handicap and course rating systems; supports the World Handicap System in Canada. 
    • Rules & Amateur Status Committee Oversees Rules of Golf and Amateur Status; educates and ensures compliance. 
    • Sport Committee Advises on sport development, participation, high-performance pathways, Safe Sport, and junior golf. 
  • Councils
    • Golf Industry Advisory Council Provides insights from industry stakeholders; advises on participation gaps, facility-level priorities, and ‘Grow the Game’ initiatives. 
    • Governors Council Advisory group of experienced volunteers providing governance insight, strategic advice, and issue analysis. 
    • Provincial Council Connects Golf Canada and Provincial Associations on governance, strategy, and policy alignment.
