CALGARY, Alta. – The field is set to compete for the 121st Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship, presented by BDO at Mickelson National Golf Club and Heritage Pointe Golf Club in Calgary, Alta. from July 27-30.
Along with winning the Earl Grey Cup, the winner will also receive exemptions into the 2026 U.S. Amateur Championship, 2027 U.S. Open Final Qualifying, and the 2027 RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley from June 9-13.
The Field
The tournament will feature a field of 264 players competing with 10 countries represented, including: Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Hong Kong, China, Mexico, Poland, Republic of China, Republic of Ireland, and the United States.
Twelve (12) of the top 500 players on the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) are in the field, led by Justin Matthews of Little Britain, Ont. who is the lowest ranked competitor, currently at No. 91. Fellow Canadians Dawson Lew of North York, Ont. Alexis Rouleau of Montreal, Que. and Austin Krahn of Christina Lake, B.C. are also ranked in the top 500. Below are the 12 players currently ranked inside the top 500 that will compete in Calgary.

Tournament Format
The tournament will feature a field of 264 players competing over 72-holes of stroke play, beginning on Monday, July 27. The inter-provincial team championship will run concurrently through the first 36 holes of the tournament. Each day, the lowest two out of three individual 18-hole scores will count towards the team score. Mickelson National and Heritage Pointe will play to a Par 72 with a cut following Tuesday’s second round. The low 70 players and ties will advance to the final two rounds of the national championship at Mickelson National Golf Club.
Inter-Provincial Team Championship Winners
Ontario leads all provinces with a total of 35 Inter-Provincial Championship titles and British Columbia (B.C.) is second all-time with 26. Three other provinces have won multiple titles including, Alberta (15), Quebec (9) and Manitoba (3). Saskatchewan, Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia have all won once. Team Ontario enter as the defending champions in search of their 36th Willingdon Cup, having won two of the past three in 2023 and 2025.

Fifteen (15) members of the Team Canada program will compete this year. Justin Matthews will look to win his first Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship after finishing T29 and earning the Gary Cowan Medal as the low Canadian amateur at the 2026 RBC Canadian Open.
