The United States will enter Caledon as the defending champions next September

CALEDON, Ont. – Golf Canada is proud to announce that the 12th playing of the World Junior Girls Golf Championship, presented by BFL CANADA, will be held at The Pulpit Club in Caledon, Ont. set to take place September 26 – October 1, 2027.

“We are very proud to announce that The Pulpit Club will host the 2027 World Junior Girls Golf Championship, presented by BFL CANADA. We are looking forward to returning to The Pulpit following a successful Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship in 2023. The Pulpit will present the players with a true test next fall,” said Adam Cinel, Tournament Director, World Junior Girls Golf Championship, Golf Canada. “I would like to thank the Club and its membership for its continued partnership with Golf Canada. We are confident that The Pulpit Club will provide a memorable experience for teams from across the globe as they compete for our prestigious world championship.”

In total, 24 teams representing 23 countries will compete for the prestigious team championship with an individual championship running concurrently over 72-holes on The Pulpit course. The individual champion will receive an exemption into the 2028 CPKC Women’s Open and the top five players will receive exemptions into the 2028 Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship, presented by BDO.

Set along the Niagara Escarpment in the rolling hills of Caledon, The Pulpit Club is home to two nationally recognized golf courses — The Pulpit and The Paintbrush. Designed by renowned golf course architects Dr. Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry, The Pulpit opened in 1990, followed by The Paintbrush in 1992. From the outset, the two courses were intentionally designed to provide dramatically different golf experiences. The Pulpit takes advantage of the property’s significant elevation changes, long views and dramatic natural landscape, creating a bold and expansive golf experience. Just minutes away, The Paintbrush presents an entirely different character, with a more intimate, links-inspired design that moves naturally through fescue, rolling terrain and the features of the land.

That contrast remains one of the defining characteristics of The Pulpit Club today. Together, the two courses provide members and guests with distinctly different experiences while sharing the same commitment to exceptional golf course architecture, conditioning and thoughtful presentation.

The club has a proud history of championship golf and has welcomed many of the game’s leading players over the years. Most recently, The Pulpit Club hosted the 2023 Canadian Men’s Amateur Championship, further establishing the property as a venue capable of showcasing championship golf at the national level. Hosting the World Junior Girls Golf Championship in 2027 represents another important chapter for The Pulpit Club and an opportunity to welcome an international field of emerging players to Caledon while supporting the continued growth of the game. In hosting, The Pulpit Club becomes the eighth club to host the world championship in tournament history.

“We are incredibly proud to welcome the World Junior Girls Golf Championship to The Pulpit Club in 2027. Our club has a long history within Canadian golf, and we believe clubs like ours have a responsibility to give back to the game and help create opportunities for the generations that will follow us. There is something particularly exciting about knowing that some of the future stars of women’s golf will be representing their countries and competing right here at The Pulpit,” said Rob Wright, Chief Operating Officer, The Pulpit Club. “To have our members, our team and our community experience that is a point of genuine pride for us. We’re looking forward to working alongside Golf Canada and everyone involved in the championship to deliver an experience that showcases our club, our community and Canadian golf at its very best.”

The United States will enter as the defending champions after winning last week at the Brampton Golf Club in Brampton, Ont. The U.S. finished with a collective score of 15-under to win by five shots over the two-time defending champions, Republic of Korea. The win gave the U.S. its second team title at the World Junior Girls Golf Championship, having won the inaugural championship in 2014. They became the third multi-time winner joining the Republic of Korea (2015, 2019, 2024, 2025) and Spain (2017, 2022). The U.S. was represented by Anna Fang of San Diego, Calif., Mia Clausen of Carlsbad, Calif. and Amelie Zalsman of St. Petersburg, Fla.

England’s Lauren Crump earned the individual honours finishing at 11-under to win by one stroke over Seoah Kim of the Republic of Korea. The win for Crump marked the second straight year a player from England earned individual honours after Charlotte Naughton won in 2025. With her win, Crump earned an exemption into the 2027 CPKC Women’s Open, taking place at The Royal Ottawa Golf Club in Gatineau, Que., August 18-22.

In addition to the host teams, Team Canada I and II, the top 10 teams from this year’s tournament have earned an automatic invitation into the 2027 championship including the United States, Republic of Korea, England, Spain, Hong Kong, China, Germany, Colombia, Mexico and Sweden. The final field will be announced in September 2027.

Several players who have competed in the World Junior Girls Golf Championship have gone on to great success on the LPGA Tour. Canadian Brooke Henderson, a 14-time LPGA Tour winner and Canada’s winningest professional golfer, finished fourth in the individual competition at the inaugural championship in 2014.

Other notable competitors who went on to become LPGA Tour winners include Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand who won back-to-back World Junior titles in 2018 and 2019 as well as Yuka Saso of the Philippines who won the 2016 World Junior title. Other former World Junior competitors who have gone on to win on the LPGA Tour include Hannah Green of Australia, Maja Stark and Linn Grant of Sweden and 2023 CPKC Women’s Open winner, Megan Khang of the United States.

Practice rounds for the 72-hole competition will take place Sunday, September 26 with opening ceremonies set for Monday, September 27. The tournament will commence with the opening round on Tuesday, September 28 and play will conclude on Friday, October 1.
