Tournament will be reduced to 54-holes and will resume play on Friday at 6:30 a.m.
LÉVIS, Que. – The third round of the 2026 Canadian University/College Championship presented by BDO was suspended due to heavy rainfall just before 12 p.m. local time on Thursday at Golf La Tempête in Lévis, Que.
Due to play being suspended for the remainder of the day and additional inclement weather expected on Friday, the tournament will now be reduced to a 54-hole event and will resume at 6:30 a.m. local time on Friday.
The men’s division began their rounds on Thursday with the UBC Okanagan Heat currently at 2-under for the day and 19-under for the tournament. Two players from the UBC Okanagan Heat completed their third round including Oakley Mayner who shot a 1-over 73, and Chris Jo who shot an even par 72 to currently count toward the team score. Two players have two holes remaining including Ryan Vest currently at 3-under and Andrew Rouble at even par, teammate Ryan Gillis has six holes remaining and is currently 3-over.
Trailing the UBC Okanagan Heat are the UBC Thunderbirds at 12-under, with four of their players having six holes remaining in their rounds and one player with 11 holes left. Shunkichi Yamamoto currently sits 2-under and Aneesh Kaura is at 1-under, Jake Houston is 1-over and Manpreet Lalh is 2-over all with six holes remaining. Teammate Leighton Wright sits 1-over with 11 holes to play. The Montreal Carabins are third at 5-under.
In the Men’s Individual Championship, Anthony Jomphe (Montreal Carabins) is currently 2-under through 12 holes and holds a two-shot lead over Mayner, who completed his round. Charly Pinel (Champlain St-Lawrence Lions) is third at 6-under for the tournament with six holes remaining. Four golfers are currently tied for fourth at 5-under.
In the women’s division, second round play wrapped early this morning following resumption of play with the UBC Thunderbirds sitting at 1-over and holding a nine-shot lead over the UBC Okanagan Heat in pursuit of their ninth consecutive national championship.
In the Women’s Individual Championship, the leaderboard remains relatively unchanged with Katherine Hao (UBC Thunderbirds) at 1-under, holding a two-shot lead over defending champion Julia Alexander-Carew (UBC Okanagan Heat). Keria Hou (UBC Thunderbirds) is in third at 2-over with a trio of golfers tied for fourth at 3-over.
The top three daily scores count towards the women’s team total throughout the week, while the top four daily scores accrued by the men’s teams count towards their overall total.
