Are you a high-school or post-secondary student looking to break into the sports industry and build connections with established industry professionals? Golf Canada invites you to apply for our 2027 Student Ambassador Program.
Golf Canada is the National Sport Federation and governing body for golf in Canada, representing more than 380,000 members at 1,522 clubs nationwide.
Golf Canada conducts two Professional Championships annually – the RBC Canadian Open and the CPKC Women’s Open.

Golf Canada conducts two professional championships annually – the RBC Canadian Open and the CPKC Women’s Open.
As the only Canadian stop on the PGA TOUR, the RBC Canadian Open continues to deliver a world-class experience. In 2026, the championship welcomed 124K fans, a star-studded field including 18 Canadians, and more than 2000 volunteers with 34 Universities and Colleges represented.
The 2027 RBC Canadian Open will be taking place from June 7 – 13, 2027, at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley – a world-class venue that has become a foundational host venue in the future of the championship.
Also conducted by Golf Canada, the CPKC Women’s Open has received global accolades, including being twice named LPGA Tournament of the Year. The 2026 championship in Edmonton welcomed more than 1200 volunteers and achieved a record attendance of 74K spectators.
The 2027 CPKC Women’s Open is set to take place from August 16 – 22, 2027, at The Royal Ottawa Golf Club in Gatineau, Quebec.
Who Can Apply for a Student Ambassador role?
With our two 2027 Professional Championships taking place in different host provinces, each interested student will be asked to apply for one championship only.
The minimum age requirement for a Golf Canada Student Ambassador is 16 years of age.
RBC Canadian Open
- Post-secondary students who attend school in Ontario.
- High-school students in the Peel District School Board and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board or attending private schools in the area.
CPKC Women’s Open
- Post-secondary students who attend school in the Ottawa-Gatineau region.
- High-school students who attend school in the Ottawa-Gatineau region.
Ambassadors can apply individually but are also encouraged to apply as teams of 2. A maximum of 2 Ambassadors will be selected from each school.
We highly encourage those with a strong interest in pursuing sports business, events, hospitality and tourism, and volunteer management to apply – however, applications are open to all!

Role overview and commitment
Attend the virtual Student Ambassador orientation in mid-January.
- Carefully review all material provided by Golf Canada once selected – including information about the Professional Championships, available volunteer committees, volunteer requirements, and the registration process.
- Complete the in-person and digital tasks outlined by Golf Canada. There will be approximately 12 total tasks (1 per month), and tasks will range from social media posts (assets provided by Golf Canada) to PA announcements and/or information sessions on campus.
- Bring an energy, passion, and knowledge for the Professional Championships volunteer roles, and represent the Golf Canada brand with a high degree of professionalism.
- Attend the RBC Canadian Open volunteer orientation, which will take place in late May.
- Volunteer at the 2027 RBC Canadian Open, taking place from June 7 – 13, 2027. Note that as a Student Ambassador, your registration fee will be comped.

- High-school students are eligible to receive approximately 30 volunteer hours. Please ensure that all activities meet your school’s specific volunteer-hour requirements and are approved by your school, if necessary.
