Three trips to Naples, three top-five finishes and one trophy still out of reach.

Brooke Henderson and Corey Conners will take another run at the mixed-team title when the Canadian standouts reunite in December.

Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ont., and Conners of Listowel, Ont., are among the first teams confirmed for the 2026 Grant Thornton Invitational, scheduled for Dec. 11-13 at Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Fla.

It will be their fourth consecutive appearance together — and they have given themselves a chance to win every time.

The Canadians finished one stroke behind Lydia Ko and Jason Day at the inaugural event in 2023, closing with a 9-under 63 to reach 25 under. They returned with a fourth-place finish in 2024 before tying for fifth at 23 under last year.

That record speaks to a partnership that has travelled well across the tournament’s three distinct formats.

The opening scramble rewards aggressive play and low scoring. Foursomes, also known as alternate shot, tests precision and patience. The final-round modified four-ball format requires both players to tee off before switching balls for their second shots, with the lower score counting on each hole.

Conners’ controlled ball-striking and Henderson’s attacking style have made the Canadians a natural fit. Both are experienced on the international stage, and both developed through Golf Canada’s national team program before representing the country at the Olympic Games.

Henderson is the winningest Canadian professional golfer, with 14 LPGA Tour titles, including two major championships. She added another signature victory in 2025 when she won the CPKC Women’s Open for the first time.

The 2026 season has brought more strong play in the majors. Henderson finished second at the Amundi Evian Championship and tied for third at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

Conners owns two PGA Tour victories, both at the Valero Texas Open. One of the game’s most accurate drivers, he recorded his best result of the 2026 season with a tie for seventh at the Travelers Championship.

Defending champions Lauren Coughlin and Andrew Novak have also committed to the December event. Jennifer Kupcho and Chris Gotterup, who shared second place in 2025, are set to return as well.

For Henderson and Conners, the goal is clear: turn another week in contention into their first victory together.
