CAJICÁ, Colombia — Étienne Papineau of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., fired a final-round 64 on Sunday to earn a share of second place at the Inter Rapidisimo Golf Championship on PGA TOUR Americas.
Papineau finished the tournament at 17-under par, one stroke behind winner Drew Doyle of Louisville, Ky., who closed with a three-under 69 to secure his first PGA TOUR Americas title at Club El Rincón de Cajicá.
Starting the final round within striking distance of the lead, Papineau made a charge up the leaderboard with eight birdies. The Canadian reached 18-under par through 14 holes and shared the lead before a bogey on the par-4 17th dropped him one shot back.
Doyle maintained his narrow advantage down the stretch and converted a 13-foot par putt on the 18th hole to secure the victory at 18-under.
Papineau shared second place with American Patrick Newcomb, who carded a final-round 66. Zach Smith finished fourth at 16-under, while Justin Biver and Corey Pereira tied for fifth at 15-under.
The result adds another strong performance to Papineau’s 2026 campaign as he continues to compete on PGA TOUR Americas and pursue advancement through the Fortinet Cup standings.
